Biography

Linda Lapointe has a college diploma in health sciences from Cégep Ahuntsic. In 1986, she completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a major in finance at HEC Montréal. She worked in the family's Provigo grocery store from the time she was a teenager. She officially took over the family business in 1997 when she became the owner and manager of Provigo Lapointe et Fille. She finally sold the store in 2006.

In addition to her career as a manager, she was treasurer and member of the Association des détaillants en alimentation du Québec (ADAQ) board of directors from 2002 to 2006. The association inducted her into their hall of fame in 2013. In her community, she was president of the Regroupement des gens d'affaires de Boisbriand from 2009 to 2015. Since the age of 26, she has been actively involved in her community, notably as organizer of Déjeuner de partage.

In the 2007 general election, Linda Lapointe became the MNA for Groulx in the Quebec National Assembly under the ADQ banner.

In the October 19, 2015, federal election, she was elected as the Member of Parliament for Rivière-des-Mille-Îles with the LPC. Following her election, she served on two House of Commons parliamentary committees: the Standing Committee on Official Languages (LANG) and the Standing Committee on International Trade (CIIT). She was later appointed Deputy Whip.

Since 2020, she has worked as a National Caucus liaison for the Prime Minister’s Office.
